Are these cookies good for anything or are they just a way to sell tins for old ladies to put sewing supplies in?

I have never even tried them. I've seen them but never ate one before. Not a big cookie eaeter anyway unless they're just out of the oven and fresh! Those old cookies in a can are dry and gross.  But these?

They actually make great door stops and cold drink coasters (putting hot drinks on them makes them dissolve).

Only grandmas like those. That's why they made the container to double as a storage for the sewing supplies.

The perfect cookies for tea parties with the little ones. They hold up well, the little ones pretend to be fancy and they're so cheap you don't care if a couple tins are wasted.  I will also use them for an ingredient in other recipes. They do well as a cake layer in a ice box cake.
