Can creationists discredit evolution without inserting some certain degree of intellectual dishonesty in their arguments?

They have no arguments.  They have opinions instead, which are presented as arguments and are usually delivered with a rather quaint ignorance.  As others have noted, this may not in itself be dishonest, merely uneducated.
