We say we fight for Democracy but what good is DEMOCRACY without adhering to a strong Constitution that prevents fools from voting their

rights away? Even worst, yours. Worst than that, mine ;(

    People will always vote away their rights. A constitution helps prevent this. Though ultimately if a super majority is stupid, liberty still gets undermined either by the constitution being amended or by it not being enforced.

    Ironically a society based on liberty becomes so wealthy that it tends to fall into decadence, abandon the principles that made it great and then collapse back into authoritarianism. There is a cycle of prosperity, decline, collapse and rebirth.

    People virtue signal about democracy as if it somehow guarantees a society based on enlightened ideas but that's complete nonsense. Democracy is just a war of ideas where the majority dominate the minority.

    It was a big mistake to enfranchise everyone. The voting age should be raised to 30 and people on welfare shouldn't be allowed to vote. Only people who contribute to society and are old enough to have some wisdom should have a say in how things are run.
