Is the US really finally going after Julian Assange of Wikileaks fame to bring him to the US and prosecute him? What will Trump do?

During the campaign Trump said "I LOVE WIKILEAKS". Since it is the BRAINCHILD of Julian Assange will Trump fight the US Justice Department and defend what he LOVES? Could get a little tricky. Does he UNLOVE now that it isn't fashionable any longer? What to do? What to do? What to do?

I don't blame Assange...the real work should be finding the traitor who did the leaking. Trump's shift is just another one of his two faced lies. We have seen many of those.

Remember during the campaign when Trump said "I LOVE WIKILEAKS"? I guess he can unlove if necessary. So the leaker is the only bad actor here Ele?  The "reporter" has no responsibility?  Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! :)

There's nothing "finally" about it, they've been trying to get him for years. Effectively he's under house arrest, holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. As long as he stays put, they can't touch him - so nothing has changed.

Well perhaps the efforts to have Ecuador turn him over are increasing in the States. Trump LOVES Wikileaks though so I'm guessing he will use all his WEIGHT of his office (since he is obese the weight is considerable) to protect him. Unless he decides to "unlove" Wikileaks because it's what his supporters want. Some folks think Assange is a HERO. Some don't. Where are  you on that issue? Thank you for your reply Sbf! :)

I liked some of his early stuff, when he was still working out of his native Australia. He seemed to get a little lost in his later career. Hacking is a young person's gig, he's a little long in the tooth for it now.
Incidentally, Ecuador doesn't have an extradition treaty with the US at present - and given the attitude of His Royal Orangeness towards Hispanics,  it's unlikely that Ecuador will be keen to sign one while he's the incumbent POTUS. Thank you for the info Sbf. Even though there is no extradition treaty couldn't they turn him over anyway or is it a legal matter? Would one have be executed IN ADVANCE of the turning over? I wonder if Ecuador is proud to offer sanctuary to him and how Assange likes being a prisoner within those  walls?  :)
