At what point in a relationship should a couple have their first fight?

Is it important to get it out of the way right away, like within the first couple weeks or is it ok to wait longer? How much longer? O_o

Fight, or disagreement? We disagreed (on trivial stuff) on the first date. Nothing dealbreaking.

Deeper than a basic disagreement; not necessarily a brawl.

  • Within the first few weeks. It will prove that feeling of making up, or giving up. Make up sex might also be a good indicator of timing, the sooner the better.

Make up sex? I didn't even lose my virginity until we'd been dating five months. I proposed marriage, she answered by taking her clothes off.

  • We'd been married for over a year before we had our first big fight.  It was HIS fault!
