Electronics. Learned it in the Navy.
    Teaching. Practice and study.
Sarcasm. I was born with that.

:):):) I dunno about the third one  Ele. The first two are top-drawer in my opinion. If you ARE sarcastic I guess it's about those "others" who deserve the sarcasm. I cannot recall a single instance where I thought you were being sarcastic toward me. Maybe you were and it went over my head but I don't think so! Thank you for your reply! :)

  • The automotive business. Always liked tinkering with cars and when I came home to stay, I learned as much as possible from a great German man who taught me to do things right. I was a great mechanic, a great auto body repairman and a super auto painter and graphics painter. I loved the painting the most and got quite good at it. Many of my custom paint jobs were in shows all around. You name it? I could paint it!

I'm mostly a writer, but trained in multi-media; audio, video, graphic design on computer, photography. I learned by doing it, really.

  • I am an expert in linguistics. I got to be so from studying it. I have both a B.A. and a Master's in linguistics now. I've been interested in languages since I discovered Latin at age 10; from then on I studied ancient languages and language history, my two biggest fields of expertise within the umbrella of linguistics.

  • I don't know if my credentials would stand up in court as an expert in this field or not,(in all likelihood not) but my passion, in all the things I've had the opportunity to try in my life, is in teaching. I spent a year in the local school system as a substitute a number of years back and taught on all age levels. It really was part performing, part storytelling, part counseling, part preaching, part begging, pleading and cajoling until the sweat rings met your waistline. It was communicating and connecting and when it worked, you felt the earth move under your feet. The connection was in the eyes and expression of the student when the right buttons were pushed. Ultimately, it was about life and living more than the subject at hand, about preparation for contending in life and I loved it. I've worked in about a half dozen professions in my life and now that I'm retired, I look back on the classroom as one of the finer moments. Certainly no expert, but one hell of an apprentice.
