Oh god Nobody... you and I must be twins separated at birth :P Cos I seem to really get up people's noses here and I don't even intend to... I think it's a slight language cultural issue in that things that are tame here are not so there and vice versa... but it's frustrating and, as you say, not fun.. I will go read the other responses to see if I can pick up some tips
Trump calling Rubio Little Marco was the best one I've heard in a while. It would have been even better if he had been able to pat Little Marco on top of the head as he said it. I don't dislike Rubio but this instance of insult was funny.
British humor frequently is of the "put down" type Read such for a basic approach, and then practice, practice, practice. Sarcasm is a useful attribute to have as well.
American "humor" consists entirely of putdowns and pratfalls, satire is the epitome of all of it. British humour is more subtle - sexual innuendo, double entendres and sheer surrealism. Monty Python. Are You Being Served? The Two Ronnies. 'Allo 'Allo. Not a putdown anywhere, just gut-busting laughter.
