Do you think women are held in more esteem by men today than they were 50 years ago? How so and why?

To a point. The post WW2 backlash, when the men returned from the war and demanded that the women return to the kitchen, is thankfully a distant memory. Women are accepted in the workforce and domestic violence, once considered acceptable or at least not talked about, is now rightly deplored.
There is still a way to go, however. The glass ceiling has not been smashed, sexual assualts are staggeringly under-reported and it's still difficult for working mothers - moms are still expected to bear the lion's share of the child raising duties.

Think being aware and talking about it will change things m'dear? Thank you for your thoughtful reply Sbf. I guess time will tell if we make progress or regress. With Trumpworld men it is doubtful that progress is possible. Despite what Ivanka says. Her dad is NOT an appreciator of women other than for their sexual appeal or lack thereof.  :(

Generally, not at all.  One reason why I am so blessed.  When I am with my man he is very respectful, holds my door open and makes sure I am seated properly.  When it's just us girls, I am usually the one who opens the door.  However we girls can seat ourselves hahahahaha, now that would look strange wouldn't it. lol

Sigh. Sad that Star. Not what you write about yourself but that "generally not at all" means women are still "just" women and should be barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen according to "old-fashioned" men. All Trumpworld men pretty much think that I assume. I could be wrong. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)
