Can cussing/cursing give you strength.... apparently it can. Do you agree?

My feeling is that it's probably partly/largely that when we swear or are riled up we have an adrenaline rush, flight or flight and the body gives us extra strength at times like those... With the ability to withstand pain longer I'd think that again partly adrenaline but also partly distraction... while you are thinking up insults you are probably distracted from the pain

  • To be honest? Until I read that, I never really thought that much about it. Interesting, I suppose. Using Patton for an example was perfect! This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at May 6, 2017 7:27 AM MDT

A friend used to use this to be able to get his motorcycle off the  ground. If it fell, he would start thinking of his X wife, and start swearing at her, and then when he got really worked up, he was able to lift his bike back up onto its wheels.  :)
