I'll tell you if you tell me how many times for you first.

  • I have been officially diagnosed with OCD, yes. I don't take anything for it, though. It's not particularly severe, but I do have it. I also suspect I have an anxiety disorder.

My older son and daughter both have OCD...and my daughter does too...I have it very, very mildly...I just like things tidy and am a teensy bit obsessed about food hygiene and germs.

The people who tell me they are perfectly sane, are the ones who scare me. :)

Talking about mental illness is like talking about the "perfect body"---it's usually a question of degree rather than total dysfunctionality.

Anecdote---I once commented to a fellow employee, "Well, you know how my mind works."  He stopped, looked at me and said, "No one knows how your mind works."   So maybe I am undiagnosed.

  • I don't think I have. Uhh, give me just a second, I need to ask the voices really quick. They would know.

I prefer to think of it as a 'feature', not a disorder.

Clinical depression. I don't have it anymore, but I wrestled with the Black Dog for years.
