  • No, not really as my Mom has been gone since 1999. But I'll probably go put some fresh flowers on her grave.

I know one of my daughters will be dropping by to take me to exchange the sandals she bought me.  Our youngest daughter and her son already gave me a journal for my writing that says  "She Believed She Could so she did" My other granddaughter and my great grand daughter will more than likely stop by too.  Hubby will cook.  Not sure if our oldest will stop, but she'll call>  I'm just going to relax. You have many in your family that treasure you.  I am not the least bit surprised.  Knowing that is truly a gift.

  • Going to spend the weekend at my parents' house--we'll probably go out to dinner too. I already have a couple gifts to give my mom :)

no, i wish, i'll probably get stuck at home after church, my ride will probably drop me off at home before she goes out celebrating with her daughter, i dont think they'll care that i dont have a mom around to celebrate with so i doubt they will ask me over, they never have. so selfish

  • Probably spending most of the day deeply depressed and crying.

I don't like the fact you will be crying and deeply depressed.  I do want you to know, I will be sending you good vibes.  You are a very nice person and I've known you quite a while.  I'm sorry it won't be a happy day for you.  Again, I'll be sending you happy thoughts.

  • Thank you, I really appreciate that. I need all the happy thoughts I can get right now.

  • I doubt that I would be good company to be around. It's going to be a rough day.

I know it Karen.  I have been weepy for the last two days.

I suspect I would be lousy company too.

I am happily a mom to only 4-legged kids and kids that have no legs at all.  They make every day special and cool.  For my mom, I will call and sing a happy mom's day tune with Don.  She always likes it when we giggle and make fools of our not-so-wonderful singing voices.  If I still lived at home I would make her breakfast in bed and a sign.
I'll mail the sign and probably write her a funny poem about being a mom.  In fact, I should start on those things right now.  Thanks for reminding me!  I'm off!!  You all have a great day! This post was edited by Merlin at May 12, 2017 11:37 AM MDT

No.  My mother passed away last year.

I think the day is depressing for more than a few of us for many reasons.

No, I don't celebrate mother's day. I prefer my children take me into account throughout the year, instead of once a year.

Same here.  I think that is all any mother really wants.  Skip the Hallmark stuff.

No plans. I'm not a mother and my mother is no longer living.

Every day is mother's day for me.
I have a wonderful son who is very good to me.
