    OK, thanks.  The book I read was interesting and much of it was told from the dog's perspective, but I found the end disappointing.  It sort of just fell off.

    Your question brought to mind one of my very favorite books and THE best book I've read about any animal/s.

    "The Plague Dogs" by Richard Adams

    An excellent-to-me animated film was made based upon the novel. It ain't no kiddie cartoon, though!
