Shrug your shoulders. Yes, right now, shrug them. Now which muscles were in play to make that happen? ~

The true purpose of this post was an experiment to see if you read it without being able to avoid shrugging your shoulders.  Did it work?

I was sitting in a position that makes it difficult to shrug and I was too comfy and lazy to do anything.

  • Nope, I shrugged them a couple of times, actually :P No idea what muscles are involved, though.

  • No, did not do that and do not like that gesture at all. I taught school and did not like that response as they are too lazy to even say they don't know.

Yes, I avoided shrugging my shoulders. Since having my shoulder replaced, I am very aware of the many muscles involved in shrugging. My rotator cuff muscles no longer function and I am learning to use the deltoids to move my shoulder on that side.
