If someone sued you for $20 because you had a bad date and left, how would you react?

  • This would be unlikely as filing costs and a lawyer would be a tad more than $20.

A guy in Texas is doing this.

    Unlikely, but possible, apparently.

I heard about that one. It's ridiculous. I would say, call my lawyer. One of my friends is a lawyer. She would love it! Haha!

  • Hmm, I'm not sure. I'm not the kind to abandon the date because it isn't going well. I'd finish the date and make a mental note not to do it again. That news headline is crazy though!

For one thing, I wouldn't be texting while I was out on a date and for another, my phone does not have a texting feature.

I'd give offer $50 if they promised to never again acknowledge that we have ever met.

There's no grounds for filing a lawsuit, what is he going to sue her for?  She isn't obligated to give him a good date and he chose to pay.  This is the dating game, some you win, and some you lose.

I would just say "I hope you have a cheap lawyer" After she spent 1000 bucks I would just give her the 20 and tell her I hope it was worth it. This post was edited by Element 99 at May 18, 2017 6:40 PM MDT

    I'm not really clear here.

Did someone sue somebody for HAVING a bad date or was someone THE bad date?

That would be thrown out of court for just blatant nonsense.
