Sing Sing. The Bastille was a prison. The French Revolutionaires stormed it to release a few of their comrades and to secure a weapons cache that was stored there.

Is Sing Sing the worst prison in America Sbf? Didn't the French Revolutionaries drive Marie Antoinette et al from the palace? When did she say "let them eat cake"? I think wherever Trump is should be stormed by revolutionaries. Docile ones of course. He must be taken alive and not harmed at all. He must be tried for all his crimes. One can only hope. Did all the patricians face the guilllotine in France? Our surname is etched on the Arc de Triomphe. When my son was in Paris on business years ago he said he was stunned to see that. We did some research and in fact there was a Frenchman with our surname involved in the French Revolution! Whether we are related or not we don't know. Off with their heads! Or was that in Alice in Wonderland? Thank you for your reply! :)
The French Revolutionaires captured the French Royals in the Palace at Versailles, and had them publicly guillotined. That was later, they weren't at the Bastille. There is some doubt as to whether or not Marie Antoinette ever uttered that famous non sequitur. She was Austrian, and Austrians had been regarded with antipathy in France from time immemorial, it goes back to Charlemagne and the Holy Roman Empire. The phrase was penned by Jean Jacques Rousseau many years before the French Revolution when Marie Antoinette was still a young child. The French Revolution sparked a mad bloodlust in the French peasantry - they executed all the nobles they could capture, then rampaged on, killing all "royalist sympathizers" including the palace servants. Some escaped, including an ancestor of mine, but not many.
If there is any storming to be done, it would have to be the remnants of a dying conservatism trying to dislodge the firmly entrenched forces of liberalism. After all, they did win the cultural war, the propaganda war, the political war, the war for the heart and soul of America, as well as the war against the practice of faith. You've used a most appropriate metaphor in your question. Those of us relegated to the ranks of peasantry, are tired of hearing "let them eat cake". Perhaps it is time for the rabble to unite and haul the liberal elites to a place of public execution. From what I've seen there's nothing left to lose, as order is rapidly breaking down into total chaos. The political aberration known as the Trump Administration, is the result of a failed uprising of the right. "Robespierre" may sit in the Oval Office, but he's as powerless as the Provisional government spawned in Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution, and as short lived. The one who governs is not necessarily the one in control.
Dems wouldn't storm anything other than the internet. Maybe the Hollywood dems will make a movie to make it look real. That's what Hollywood is good at; fantasy. Stephen Colbert jumps on Alec Baldwin, and pulls down his pants to reveal stars and stripes undies. But in the real world; nothing happens, just the typical spew on the internet.
