Only God knows absolutes like "Never" and "Always" and it is not for mortals to say or risk tempting God. Better that you don't. This post was edited by O-uknow at May 20, 2017 9:17 AM MDT

Using absolutes is like saying you know as much as God. It does not matter if it is something you think you control. We don't know how much control we have over anything. Even ourselves

Carrying this a bit too far?

I know I will never be black.  I know I will never be a man that is 6 feet tall.   I know I will always breathe until I die.

    You know?

    P.s. We are all God.

I will never eat meat again.

I will never kill another human being unless they harm and threaten to kill an innocent.

I will never hurt any innocent animal or child.

These are nevers I know I will adhere to as long as my sanity holds out.

I always keep my word on matters that are sacred to me.

So, always and never can really amount to a solid foundation if you adhere to integrity and discernment.

When you just use those words in passing, they mean nothing and the person who has this lovely habbit will never realize how important keeping a vow actually is to allow  character and sanity to build and strengthen.  Most people do not even know the value of such a practice. Thank you for your thoughtful reply Sharonna. I am not as certain of anything as you are. It must be very nice to be so certain. I'm not certain of anything. I used to be but I've learned not to be. :(

Well, Rosie we may be thinking about this idea along different lines.

Would you ever hurt an innocent child?  For any reason if you had your wits about you?

I can say I would not.  I am not talking about some child with a handgranade.  I am talking about children in general.  I would never hurt them.

I know you wouldn't either.  EVER.

Not purposely or knowingly but we can't always know what our words/deeds will do to others.  And we are responsible for ALL OF THEM. Purposeful/knowingly or not. Aren't we? Thank you for your additional comment. As I said I am no longer certain of anything or anyone including me. :(
