Do you have to know something in order to believe it, or do you have to believe something in order to know it?

If something i hear about concerns me I would prefer to see reasonable  evidence in order to consider it as knowledge.

I could believe in fairies and learn about them from various sources but that would not be knowledge.

Once you come across grammar and syntax---who cares?  It becomes and upwardly spiraling and wonderfully precise way of being able to express more precisely what we mean---thereby increasing comprehension and decreasing extension.

Faith hasn't done a thing for me. I too need hard, concrete evidence.
