The first shoe dropped. Trump being sued for ignoring the emolumens clause in the Constitution. What took so long?

Maryland Attorney Genearl Brian Frosh and Washington, D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine filed the lawsuit.  Is the Constitution worth upholding to you or should it be selective cherrypicking and we should all look the other way if it affects Trump in any way? Why?

That's nice.   What is that gonna do?   ANYTHING?

I have no idea what 2 measly guys who want publicity can do against TRUMP.  But it's something, I guess.

And I have no idea what emolumens means or what that has to do with the Constitution even if you meant emolument.  What is that supposed to mean?   If I don't know, I'm sure most of the site is baffled as well. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at June 12, 2017 3:04 PM MDT

Oh that is COOL.   That is an embarrassment, but he will not break a sweat over it.  Know why?  Those guys do not have enough clout to take him on.  He will bury them.

Emoluments are financial gains which come to a president (or congress) from outside sources.  For example, if Trump's business makes a profit when the Turkish government stays at his hotels and pays for that stay, he would be in violation of the emoluments clause.  The fact that he turned his businesses over to his sons means nothing.  If he were on the up-and-up, he would have put his business interests - all of them - in a blind trust which would mean he would have no control over the running of those businesses and would receive no profit from them.

He's also turned out to be a lame duck - his repeal and replacement of the ACA (a core election promise) has been withdrawn because a key faction of his OWN PARTY refused to support it.

Have you heard about the secret backroom deals some Republicans are involved with regarding health care Sbf? It worries me. They are apparently trying to pull a fast one and push through a health care plan no one has read or seen or discussed or debated. They're all a bunch of shysters/crooks/bums/thugs/mugs/despicable pols. Not one of 'em is worth a sh**! :( Thank you for your reply! ;)
