Well that IS dangerous. Let's face it, unless there is a bike path, you are not welcome. You are too slow for the streets which do not allow for bikes and you are way WAY too fast for sidewalks.
Dangerous. And motorcycles are worse. Not so much for the drivers of cars, or the walker of sidewalks, but the poor motorcyclist. There is not a lot of protection for them.
It depends on where the bike paths are located. They're putting them in NYC and it's a disaster what with all the trucks, buses, taxis and delivery vans. Where I live, some of the bike paths end where there's still traffic and once the path ends, the biker has to either move left into traffic or ride on the sidewalk - neither of which is a good idea.
I just ripped off one of those "do not remove under penalty of law" tags off a couch pillow my wife bought for her office. Technically, I am not the "consumer" nor do I have the legal authorization to act as her agent in such matters.
And yet, surprisingly, I feel no guilt for having done so..
Many years ago that I played that as my first song on my new stereo setup. Cranked it way up. Halfway through I noticed my 5 year old hiding under the couch cushions with a pillow over his ears, crying. (I felt terrible.)
Chained myself to a bulldozer once to protest environmental destruction. The long-footed potoroo is now extinct in the wild - it's last habitat was clear-felled.
