Is there a movie in which you remember the opening theme song more than the movie itself?
Mine is from "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines" ~ a fun theme! If you've not heard it - - at least wait until the 0:26 seconds-or-so mark when the men start singing
Yes! Thanks, tom jackson! I like how that opening song is filmed, too, in the movie. In fact, I've twice seen the stage version of "The Sound of Music" and I think director Richard Wise made the musical itself MUCH better in his movie. I do like the movie. :)
An https://youtu.be/DeumyOzKqgIYes, Welby, I remember sitting in a trance and watching Skyfall title song;))

I wonder why I didn't hear this song more on the radio! This is lovely! I remember hearing it only a couple of times. Did you first hear the song by going to see the movie? Is this one of the James Bond films starring Daniel Craig? - He puts me in lovely trances at times. I've not seen any of the Bond films starring Craig; I've only seen one or two Bond films, in fact. Ah - - I just saw the very last image of this video you posted -- that looks like Craig's physique there at the end.
This song is great. I hardly remember it until listening to it now again. Thanks for answering, Veena.K!
Yes, the first time I heard was in the movie theatre. Daniel Craig has a very athletic body, I luv watching him run...he looks very English....you know Welby, my mother tongue isn't English, but we were all fed on bond movies...there is v.little sex in old bond movies, so it was ok for family viewing...;))
Jerry Goldsmith is one of my favorite composers for movies! This theme reminds me very much of Goldsmith's theme and score to the movie "Under Fire." I've not seen "Medicine Man." I bet you'd like the music to "Under Fire," too. (I really like the "Under Fire" music.) And the movie itself was very good, I thought. I think I'll try to look up some music from "Under Fire" and post it. :)
UPDATE: Well, I guess I take it back - -I found and listened to some "Under fire" music and I don't really think it sounds so much like "Medicine Man" as I thought. Here's a part of the score that maybe made me think of some similarities in the scores. From this link, it seems Quentin Tarantino used this music in one of his movies, too.
UPDATE #2 : To me, this particular recording of the link does not do justice to the last minute of the music -- if you listen to it, from around the 2:00 mark to the end, there are some GREAT tympani and/or bass drum after-beats that hardly are heard. They don't come through. On my original soundtrack album, the after-beats pound through. :)

Favorite movie EVER EVER EVER. I get teary whenever I hear the theme song. Must have lived in Africa in a former life.
And Streep was ROBBED of the Best Actress Oscar. Still pisses me off. Geraldine Page won that year for "The Trip to Bountiful." A "she's needed to win an Oscar for a while and she's probably going to die soon so let's give her one" Oscar. Grrrrrr............
