Does anyone here know a step-by-step of how to clean /reconfigure a computer?

In laymans' terms? I'm not good with trying to fix /clean my computer, yet I know it keeps saying 'stop script' a lot, and can sometimes freeze:( Any tips of how to correct o r clean this is welcome..
