How come I don't seem to get alerts for replies to my own questions?

I get e-mail alerts, and alerts in the drop-down list from the little bell symbol, about everything else I post on, but I am not getting them for replies to my own questions. How come?

The bottom of the page you ask on has a check box and the phrase "Send me notifications when other members reply to this discussion." It remembers your setting. I'd venture to guess your checkbox is not checked, so you aren't telling the system as you post that you want notifications.

Next time you ask, check the box. In the meantime, you can use the "subscribe topic" button below your question- click it once and you'll get alerts on the question. Going forward, once you have the other checkbox checked, it'll be brainless and you shouldn't have to worry about checking anything.
