Why is Comey still in the news? Wasn't he fired?

Trump made sure Comey would stay in the news when he said that he suggested there were tapes of the conversations between him and Comey make sure what Comey said was accurate.

Obviously it worked, because Comey laid out a good case for the possibility that Trump engaged in obstruction of justice.

Now Trump is being investigated.

Whistle blowers tend to stay in the news. 

Someone getting fired does not automatically end all controversy about it. In Comey's case the controversy about his firing has been escalating ever since he was fired.
