    You are correct as far as I have read.  One site said that is what they do when they are telling you they OWN you.

    Hi JaneS~ I have the funniest visual in my head.  You and the cat, staring each other down.  Who is going to flinch first?  I don't know but then you both charge.  BAM!  I think the cat one the first round.  It was a big orange tabby cat, mind you!! ;) (domestic)

    I guess I'll take the other answers as the reasons. All I know is the cat who lives with me seems to enjoy her head-butting time with me. And I enjoy it. Even if she is sliming her scent all over me, according to most. And if she's really in to it, she drools delicately. She's a charmer!
    :)

    And I wouldn't wish for a different cat - - she is much more centered than I am. She's a good role model for me!
