My STATE has several. Container deposits for starters - no drinks containers end up in landfill because they're worth money, regardless of whether they're cardboard, aluminium, plastic or glass. Homeless people often can be seen scavenging through bins because some people can't be a$$ed saving them. Then there's kerbside recycling, every local council is required to implement that alongside general rubbish collection. Metal, paper products, glass and hard plastics are placed in a second bin, larger than the general waste one.
I remember seeing something on the news a while back about a program for curbside recycling, but I'm not sure if it really caught on. It's a shame, we should be recycling.
Yes it does but it's the County, not the city. Recycle and green waste. Have three garbage bins for it. In fact my recycle bin is out front now to be dumped.

I think we have bins around where you can take your recyclables, but I'm not sure where they are. Plus, I don't drive so it would be hard for me to haul stuff to them.
Our development has opted out of the composting because we don't want food lying around waiting for the City to make the pickups. We believe it will just attract bugs and vermin and we spend a lot of money making sure that our buildings are pest free.
Yes, my county does. It's a whole lot easier to recycle now, than it was when I first moved here. They've also expanded what can supposedly be recycled. I often wonder if it actually is, but rarely get a straight answer when I question that.
I live in an apartment, so that's what I do as well. I have my old computer that I really don't know what to do with though. I don't want to put that in the dumpster.
