The human ankle, it is a lousy design. Earthquakes. Stillbirths.

  • Wisdom teeth, for one. Now I still have mine, because I'm a super-human, but what's with these teeth that most of us have to have removed?

The appendix. May have been useful at one point, may have been larger at one point, but now it's just a nuisance.

And don't get me started on lightning and forest fires...

A paraphrased statement from 'Edith Bunker' on "All in the Family"  -- "Maybe God put the appendix there for surgeons to practice on."

Need for a gland that would produce a substance to relieve extreme pain.
If nature can produce recipes for reptiles, insects and plants to make painful and deadly toxins and the gland to produce it why shouldn't there be a gland to make a substance to provide pain relief as well as antidote for toxic substances?  This post was edited by Kittigate at June 30, 2017 6:03 PM MDT

Actually there are people who dont feel pain. It is considered a kind of illness, and most of them die young.

I used to know a man who didn't have any feeling in his legs and feet. The danger of that is, if you hurt yourself, you won't know about it.

The body does produce natural endorphins to reduce pain. They just aren't always enough. I take the maximum possible dose of Paracetomol every day because of the pain I am in. Note: Paracetomol is known as Acetaminophen in the USA. I just Googled that 'cause I couldn't remember the US name!
