Do you believe that anyone posts questions on AnswerMug with absolutely no expectation, hope or desire whatsoever of even one answer?

A particularly smug member here decried the reasons for posting numerous poorly-received questions on a daily basis by using the excuse that it doesn't matter whether anyone answers or not.  It was the "I post questions because it appeals to me" defense.

"answerMug" is customly spelled with the first letter "A" in lower case. This post was edited by O-uknow at July 3, 2017 3:38 AM MDT

Too many syllables. Besides I found this https://www.google.com/search?q=customly&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8.

Funny how different things drive people crazy. While you have your smug member, others probably want to clobber you for the tildes and grammar policing. Just one big dysfunctional family.   ;-)

Believe me, PLENTY of folks want my head on a stick for grammar and tildes, just look outside of my window, lol.

I would think that there would be some level of hope. Then again, if a person regularly posts different variations of the same question without response, there wouldn't be much reason to have hope.

I wouldn't call her smug. She's just elderly, many old folks do tend to get a little matter-of-fact about things. It doesn't hurt anybody.

I'm sorry, but I don't know to whom you are referring.

I don't know either. The oldest person I know of on here has been posting since Answerbag launched in 2003, when that member would have been younger than a whole lot of current members.

Yes, you do. Don't play innocent, I saw her defense as well and it's valid. Whom does it injure?

  • "No" ... but I've heard it said ... "If you have no expectations, you'll never be disappointed."

  • I think they are not here to be part of the community, they NEVER answer anyone else's questions, they rip your head off if you don't agree with them, or answer their questions how they want them answered. Technically, that is trolling and spamming and it's not good for the site.
