If I shop for groceries I always come back with more than I went for as I check for sales items to stock up on. If I go to, for example, a hardware store for a specific item, that is all I will buy.

Passing up good buys is unwise.. Good for you when you find them to pounce on them. In hardware stores Jim usually comes back with more than he meant to buy.  Good deals he tells me! Thank you for your reply Ele and Happy Tuesday! :)

Happens to me almost every time I go shopping.  I say I'm going out for milk and bread and wind up coming home and having to go upstairs to get my shopping cart and bring it down to empty my car trunk because I can't carry it all up at once.

I'm a FOODIE Spunky which you probably already know by now. I'd rather shop for food and cook at home than go out to a fancydancy restaurant. I always have a shopping list on the kitchen table and I jot down what I'm out of but as I go through the store if I see good guys or things I want to try they go into the cart as well! Seldom, if ever, do I come home with ONLY the things I had written down on the list. Sometimes I might forget to get something 'cause the list was so long! AARRGGHH! Thank you for your reply. You know a trip to the market is always exciting for me. You never know what treasure you will find!  :)

I'm happy that you find food shopping so enjoyable.  I don't mind it - what I hate is putting it all away. :)  Happy Tuesday. :)

I love every part of cooking Spunky including cleanup. When I was a kid my Dad, younger sis and I went to the market(s) Saturday morning. Mom enjoyed cooking but not food sopping! In those days we went to Market Basket for grocery items like packaged goods, the produce stand for fruits and veggies, the butcher for meats and the bakery for breads and cakes. We had a milkman who delivered dairy products to us and there also used to be a truck that came by regularly from Helms Bakeries. My mom loved their chocolate eclairs and cream puffs! So it was a time-consuming deal and I just loved it. I can feel kinda puny and once in a market I always perk right up! You never know what treasure you might find! Thank you for your reply!

My mom used to do all the shopping and most of the cooking while we were in school.  I guess she didn't want anyone messing around in her kitchen.  As a result, none of us four girls took a liking to kitchen chores.  Happy Sunday. :)
