If you agree with Harry Harrison, the author of Soylent Green, we are headed in that direction.

That movie was really shocking at the time. I remember Edward G. Robinson was in it. Thank you for your reply Harry D and Happy Wednesday to thee! People consume others figuratively all the time. It's just the next step for those vultures. :(

We don't consume animals so they don't die of starvation, we consume them because we eat meat. In order of fairness, we'd have to feed humans to other species as no species freely eats it's own. However, in our species it's called murder.  The pro's of being human, you can farm species for the reasons of eating them and not give two hoots about their life because ours is more important because....we say it is, can't get a fairer argument than that.
We do experiment on our own though, part of the eugenics program started by Hitler, still goes on today but under the radar, gets caught now and again, https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/565562/3-5bn-pay-out-for-patients-given-killer-blood

And of course we send soul diers (canon fodder) off to war as pawns in the elites game of chess, for oil, added benefit it reduces the population growth and makes money with weaponry which the elites are also obsessed with. No different to Rome, they used a Coliseum, and now we use a battle grown under the guise of terrorism we arm both sides.

Oh well Tom Jackson in that case, jump in the oven I fancy a Tom with barbecue sauce! lol!! I was leaning to the fact that we often like to consider ourselves an animal species right up until the point of suggesting farming us and eating us, then we are far superior to the animals. We are an animal species.

But the nice thing about the philogenetic scale is that it requires not only the genus (homo), but also the specific differences (sapiens).

I'll join you at the barbecue---perhaps we can both bring and share a little of "ourselves" while there.

I beg to differ with you on one point m'dear. An Answermugger told me that IS one of the reasons we consume meat because the animals would die of starvation otherwise. I don't judge them. I just report them kj and then I ask questions based on what they say..."they" being others.  As to the rest of your response, kudos! You are absolutely correct in every respect. Sad though it is, it is what it is! It is an eloquent, thoughtful and extremely sad answer which is not your fault at all. SIGH. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday!
