It also made me aware of how our thinking and feeling keeps us hostage in the past and future, and stops us being present in the moment. It made me aware of how shallow I breathe, and how out of touch I am with my own breathing, this type of breathing causes problems else where in the body. It also encourages you to really look at something for the first time, a fresh, as you did when you were a child, because once we start learning language, a tree becomes like any other tree, and you miss the individuality of everything. However, after this he took me to a café in some beautiful woodlands, and by this time my shins were in absolute agony and I'd developed a limp.  I then had to tell him what I had done, for which he responded in kind by laughing.  Needless to say the end of the day my shins were swollen black and blue, though my pride may have hurt a little more :)  less

What on earth is going on with the education system?  At five I was learning Basic math, English, cooking, reading, and playtime, and we went on trips to museums, or nature parks.  less

Sri Chinmoy led prayers at the United Nations and did so for yea...  moreSri Chinmoy led prayers at the United Nations and did so for years.  He states:-"The United Nations is a symbol of man's inner cry, inner oneness. Outwardly, the members of the U.N. do commit mistakes. Again, if we make mistakes that does not mean that we shall never arrive at the truth. No, mistakes are merely rungs in the ladder of our inner progress. If we have an inner urge to do the right thing, to grow into the right thing, to fulfil the divine within us, then there comes a time when we do become perfect instruments of God. So we cannot judge the U.N. on its present appearance. We cannot judge the U.N. by what it has already offered us. Are we in the same prison that we created for domesticated anima...  moreAre we in the same prison that we created for domesticated animals? Our fences may appear less obvious, but is that because the fences exist in our psychology? We labour most of our lives to pay for gas, electric, water, mortgage, children, babies nappies, car insurance, road tax, speeding fines, parking fines, we are watched by CCTV 24/7, and then we die, never questioning the system, whilst the elite inherit land, go on expensive holidays, own expensive cars, take part in expensive sports, and live the life of luxury off us.  What makes them entitled to ownership over us?  less

I remember people use to ask questions about their differences, their cultures and history. We had stereotypical jokes about each other.  Now I feel things have changed drastically, especially in Western countries, people no longer appear proud to embrace their own culture, their histories, their races which has almost become a dirty word and has been changed to ethnicity.  Asking questions about our differences is almost frowned upon, and we get names thrown around like racist just because we ask questions about other peoples history or politics, language and cultures. I fear we are going to lose our individuality, our years of culture, flair, colour and history over to some form of communism. We are being discouraged to think of ourselves as individuals from years and years of so much story to tell, in exch...    less
