Sri Chinmoy is the spiritual leader of the United Nations, could he be the leader of a one world religion and would this be good for us?

Sri Chinmoy led prayers at the United Nations and did so for years.  He states:-

"The United Nations is a symbol of man's inner cry, inner oneness. Outwardly, the members of the U.N. do commit mistakes. Again, if we make mistakes that does not mean that we shall never arrive at the truth. No, mistakes are merely rungs in the ladder of our inner progress. If we have an inner urge to do the right thing, to grow into the right thing, to fulfil the divine within us, then there comes a time when we do become perfect instruments of God. So we cannot judge the U.N. on its present appearance. We cannot judge the U.N. by what it has already offered us. Only we can judge the U.N. on its soulful promise, its promise that it will one day flood the world with boundless peace."

    I think the world would be better off with no religion at all.  I don't want anyone shoving their beliefs down my throat.

    What's interesting about John Lennon, is that he was a follower of Aleister Crowley (who appeared on their sargent Pepper album and was a freemason), and Alice Bailey who were both part of the theosophical society and Alice's husband a 32 degree freemason (part of the Brotherhood). Their vision was a shared one, no countries, no religion at least one we weren't aware of although mentioned by Alice Bailey and 33rd degree Mason Albert Pike in Morals and Dogma, living in the here and now, (which is a Buddhist concept in communist countries), and no possessions ie no one will actually own anything not sure if you ever saw this article on the world economic forum:-

    And this same concept is seen in the world parliament website in the conceptual model of Earth Federation, yes we have a globalised earth as shown in the UN mandates, with a world parliament, and of course one banking system.

    "Delivered unto me," get it? Satan is the god of earthly authority. If any government office at any level has a religious spokesperson, you can be absolutely sure the religion is not Christian or Jewish. Even if it copies some Christian or Jewish ceremonies for the sake of appearance.

    Any assertion of a “one world religion” stinks of tyranny and oppression. 

    People deserve the freedom to believe what resonates with their own deepest principles, as long as such beliefs inflict no direct harm on others.
    It is a form of abuse to impose someone else’s dogma on other people, especially as a process of involuntary childhood indoctrination.

    I don't think that's happening Don, the Lucis trust prints many things for the UN and I'll leave the site here, take a look at the full moon mediation and September 2014 how electrical waves tap into the divine, honestly the UN is meant to be political but the Lucis trust is something else New Age but "old age." This is global indoctrination.

    A one world religion would be oppression and tyranny at its worst. We all have the natural right to hold our beliefs formed by our own thoughts, reasoning, logic, and critical thinking. I don’t want anyone else telling me what to believe. I definitely don’t want anyone else forced to practice a religion or to be forced to be an atheist. Freedom of religion is a basic human and natural right.

    As Don stated, as long as someone practicing a religion isn’t oppressing or harming others, they should be free to practice.

    Any validity I may have given your argument ended at "electrical waves tapping into the divine."  That is the hocus pocus of religion.  I don't mean to be disrespectful.  Clearly, you have every right to belielv in whatever you wish, but I can't go along with your beliefs.

    I'd prefer no religion, not a ban on it but the wish that people came to their senses and realised the futility and senselessness of religion and how much harm it does.. 
    I don't believe there could be one religion, too many strongly held beliefs and antagonism between the various religions, all believing theirs is the one true religion..
