my friend is like that, shes always insisting on giving me rides to the store when i get my foodstamps but then i lose my privacy cause shes constantly behind me telling me what to buy and not buy, i dont want to be rude cause shes trying to help but i do find it annoying, id rather take my cart and go to the store on my own but dont know how to tell her that

I would tell her! You could bring it up next time she offers to give you a ride. All you would need to say would be something like, "Thank you, I really appreciate it. Would you mind once we're there to give me some privacy? I would feel much more comfortable shopping alone because _____." As long as you're expressing your gratitude and speaking with her respectfully, I would hope that she wouldn't take offense to this.

In this kind of situation, retaining as much independence as you can is crucial! And she might not have any idea that this bothers you.

I can relate totally pearl. You provided an excellent example of exactly what I mean. Thank you for sharing that with us. I don't how you can let her know it's not helpful without hurting her feelings. Maybe you could tell her you'd like to get the exercise of walking to the store and back? Maybe it would work. Good luck if you try it.  Happy Friday to you! :)

As with all things, it depends on the situation. But I think it's usually better to express how you feel. This kind of annoyance can build up and explode at a really inappropriate time, which causes much bigger problems. I have done this to a dear friend before and it was a messy situation, when I could have and should have just explained to her early on what my issues were.
