Well I cannot deny that it is very hard to see someone's faults when you are enamored. However, if you truly love a person, you don't ignore their faults. If you ignore their faults, maybe you have a fake person you are pretending to love.
During the early stages, it is. Your brain goes into a natural chemical cocktail high that usually takes a couple of months to recover from. There are things that can prolong it, such as reduced contact, but you are oblivious to faults during the infatuation stage. When it fades, you start to see the real person. If you're having regular contact with someone, that often hits somewhere around 2-3 months. If it's online or distant, the infatuation stage can last seemingly forever.
