    Well South Park came up with the Super Best Friends.  They are a troup of religious heroes like Krishna and Jesus and Mohammed and Buddah. 

    Those guys were the bestest friends ever because they were all God.  Or prophets.  The guy in the suit was Joseph Smith.  Hee Hee.

    I'll go with my first thought after reading your question:

    I wouldn't create a mythical creature because an animal already exists on earth and I find it the most magical/mythical-looking, incredibly unique-looking, uniquely powerful and uniquely beautiful creature I know of. It's been my favorite animal of all ever since I first studied about it and saw pictures.
