If there is a legal justification I challenge anyone to logically explain to me why the law should not be changed.
Everybody must get cuffed. Now if the person has the crap beaten out of him, those cuffs gotta look like he is a danger. Like he can get out of them and be dangerous. You and I know this is nonsense. But that is the reason for the display when the police are guilty. They have to look like they complied with the letter of the law. Ironic, no? Even if they are in an ambulance, they are oftentimes handcuffed to the gurney.
There is a good reason for this when the letter of the law is complied with. Many arrestees ARE dangerous and must be handled with extreme care. However, when the police are at fault, it sheds a new light on anything else they do. IT is rightfully perceived as a cover-up by idiots who don't know how to do their jobs.
I wish we could see the whole story.
