The way to defeat bullies is to simply ignore them. Stand up to them. Refuse to do what they demand. See? Isn't it easy peasy?
They become impotent immediately. Being ignored is what they abhor and they will destroy themselves in a rage because you find them harmless not harmful. Being brave is not that hard. Being cowardly takes talent.
But they don't, Rosie. This isn't a playground in the school yard.
Ignoring a large group of dissenters doesn't give any leverage. Ignoring some blaring loudmouth like Trump didn't get him ignored. He got elected. Was the entire nation supposed to take this advice? They didn't. So, what happens if some of them don't ignore the jerk? The rest of us suffer.
It is impossible to ignore stuff when the whole world is watching and may not necessarily agree. It is impossible to ignore stuff when the media is active and is just looking for the next juicy story to reveal or lie about.
