Already did the unknown future thing, didn't work out.

I would go back to a job, which I loved, in another state.

There are a few times and places in my past that I would very happily go back to too Star. I'm curious but I'm not adventurous. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)

  • I'm feeling a liitle depressed because fixing my truck cost way more than it was supposed to today so bare with me on these responses please.

I have a child so I would never want go leave him or alter time and affect his existence, but for hypothetical and imaginary purposes I would so go back to the 90's where I belong and I would know so much and do so many things differently.
No one was really on the internet yet in my school and there was no smart phones so you actually had to leave the house and have a real personality and it was just different.
I feel like people were less superficial.
I had a blast, but this time I'd have such an advantage and I could see loved ones that I've lost and party with my big brother one more time and work on something with my dad and see all my old classmates again.
Anyway, the time we're in now is pretty cool but just feels kinda trashy compared to the old days to me anyway.
The internet changes people and they become more greedy and self conscious, competitive, materialistic and very cynicle and self absorbed.
I have too, I'm not immune.
    It's changed us all.
The 70's I think of side burns and bell bottoms, the 80's I remember big hair and acid wash jeans, 90's I think of Oprah being popular, grunge, dance music, The Titanic movie was a big deal.
The symbol of this time in history will be a person walking looking down at an iphone, school shootings, plastic surgery,Trump and probably the end.
Or not, I hope It just gets better and better. : ) This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at August 5, 2017 2:00 AM MDT

I always look forward to your responses Truthseeker and here's why. I know they will be honest, heartfelt, sincere and thoughtful. I value all of those qualities. You open yourself up and speak of how you feel, what you think and I so agree with your assessment. I don't know how you earn your living but you are a writer. Not one of those fancydancy high falutin' bigshot phonies. You are a real down-to-earth tell-it-like-it-is creative communicator. Thank you for your thoughtful answer and Happy Saturday. I'm depressed too...we just lost our beloved cat Tigger about a week ago. He was with us for 12 years. So that's extremely saddening. Also every day the world get crazier and loopier and nuttier and insaner. The scary part is so many folks think that is normal and "better". What today, tomorrow and beyond brings I don't know. But if the track is consistent and keeps going as-is we are in for more awful. SIGH. :)

  • Aww...thank you RosieG.
I wasn't sure if I should delete this post or not because sometimes I can get a little carried away.
I do enjoy your posts as well, you're very bold and fearless and unapologetic in the way that you phrase your political questions.
You have a well informed voice and the world needs to hear it.
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved pet.
I love cats too, but I'm just so allergic to them these days otherwise I would probably have more than the one outside cat that's around.
Thanks again for the compliments I'm not sure about my writing skills, but I do use q&a sites as an outlet sometimes and it feels good to open up to anyone who will listen and it's especially a treat when someone like yourself is kind enough to reply, I really appreciate it.
I'm just getting to know all of you and I look forward to reading your posts and knowing more about you.
    Thanks Rosie. : )

You're welcome my friend! In these trying times it's good to know there are others "out there" who share similar feelings/views and take you as you are without filters being required. Thank you for the compliments as well. I appreciate them. I figger being totally honest (without trying to hurt people which I never do) is the whole point of communicating. Otherwise why bother? It wastes everyone's time pretending to be whatever you're not. Now of course people change their minds about things from time as more information becomes available or we experience things that sheds new light on how we used to think. But I think our core doesn't ever really change.  Happy Monday Truthseeker! :)

I think I would fast forward... I would hate to feel like I'm just reliving something. I feel like going forward and living in a new period of time would be more fulfilling for some reason.

That could well be mk. You never know what is over the next hill or around the next corner. I don't know what the odds of its being better or worse are but you are an adventurer and probably would figure out a way to make the best of it...make it work for you. If we could just control everything that affects us it would be so much nicer. But we can't so we try our best and hope for the best but still luck plays a part in it too or lack thereof. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)

Right-o. We can't always control our situations but we can definitely control what we do in response to them. I'd like to practice more of this in new adventures, not the old. :)

No thanks.  I'm right here right now and that is all that would make any sense to me ever.
