I am tempted to invoke the (probably apochryphal) incident where presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson had the following exchange with a voter:

Voter: Mr. Stevenson, you have the support of every thinking person in this country!

Stevenson: That's not enough, madam, I need a majority to get elected.

But I thank you for the kind words.

    Mr. Bromide!

I think his curmudgeonly ways as The Leader of The Free World would lead to some entertaining times...;-D...

I am sorry but if nominated I will not run.  If elected I will not serve.

    #ain't doing it

But I am better at stealing speeches than that moron's wife at least.

    OLD? DO IT.

I promise I will send you the most luscious picks for a first lady.   And they will not copy Michelle.   These may not be your first choices, but we need to get you elected and then you can have your pick of anyone practically.

The most suitable ones won't be electable as they aren't US citizens. Sorry, no offence towards you, my US friends.

It has frequently been observed that the people who most desire public office and who are most willing to endure the process of getting elected are the ones we should LEAST desire as public officials (cf. Trump, Donald)...;-D...
