Like a punch in the gut. I did not see it coming. Could never go back and watch the movie again though I was very happy it won the Best Picture Oscar. And Swank the well deserved Best Actress Oscar.

What about The Fox and the Hound? Maybe not unsettling but definitely a tear-jerker if we're talking old Disney films.

the boat was destroyed, the boat that came to save them
was destroyed, the monkey kept freaking out, some guy
wanted an orchid and shot the owner of the first boat...

OMG i remember that movie Baba. My late husband and i watched that movie on a Saturday one time. I remember it like it was yesterday. Great B movie. Really scary and gross. Big ol snake with lots of frantic action that kept you on your toes. If you are scared of snakes, this is the movie to watch. My late husband was scared of snakes and this movie freaked him out. hahahha, it WAS scary. ;)

Boyhood.  To close to home, too realistic.
