Sad to hear. The man brought great joy to many, and his charitable work for the Muscular Dystrophy Association was tireless. RIP.

He sure hung in there for someone who was so ill for so long.
He was a good man and did so much for so many.

Always sad when someone so loved and talented dies. We lost Bruce Forsyth here in the last couple of days - not saying he was mega popular but he was almost an institution and it's a real shock to have lost someone so important.

Not sure who he was, but probably not worthy of mention in the same breath as Jerry L.

Well actually, yes, he was.. It's situational.. See while we *know* of Jerry Lewis, and pretty much liked him.. Bruce F was, an institution in the UK.. He entertained for decades and decades... Much as I do admire Jerry - you cannot say the same for him... SO perhaps it's situational and perspective...Here Bruce Forsyth was way, way, way more well known than Jerry, who let's face it was a famous actor many years ago... As I say I Liked him.. and perhaps liked him better then Bruce but Bruce was way, way more famous here. He'd been on our screens for decades - 50-60 years. He also received a knighthood in recognition of his career.Love him or hate him he was an institution in that generations knew him. Ask a youngster who Jerry Lewis was.. they may not know.. ask a Brit 20 something year old and they will know WHO Bruce was.

So that's my answer :)  No disrespect involved, none taken.. it's just that here Bruce is way more famous and he was way more active right up to very near the end. This post was edited by Adaydreambeliever at August 28, 2017 2:24 PM MDT

He will always be remembered not only for all the great humor he brought to us, but for all the great things he gave to others.

I was not crazy about all the movies he did. But there were more I liked then didn't like.

Just read that on Yahoo myself.  I liked him more for his good works than for his movies, although I'm sure when I was young, I liked his comedy with Dean Martin.  R.I.P.  You helped a lot of people and made them laugh. This post was edited by SpunkySenior at August 27, 2017 10:46 PM MDT

I read that a little while ago.  I didn't realize this was his son:
