I suppose Afghanistan ought to offer it up to America AND Russia. They cost us billions, and nearly bankrupt the old Soviet Union. However, it will always be a dangerous place. Who would want to mine minerals over there with all it's armed rebels?
Doofus Donny is an on-the-spot Johnny when it comes to making money. He will say he is doing for our country but the money will end up in Trump accounts. There is no stopping him when he decides he wants something. He just takes it. Thank you for your reply bh! :)
Afghanistan has no discernable economy other than poppies. If the U.S. were to invest the billions of dollars it would take to mine rare earth minerals, we would certainly be entitled to a portion of the profits and it would give the Afghans a leg up on self-sustainment. Personally, I don't believe that investing in such an endeavor is warranted as the dangers and inhospitability of the country and its occupants would negate the rewards we would seek.
One of a few conspiracy theories as to why the establishment persist in this. Winning the war is an implausible excuse.
