I was under mandatory evacuation......looking for huge storm surge to go with the cat 4 storm. I drove to Orlando to stay with a friend. I'll be safe here. I'm afraid I will not have a house to go home to though. Thanks for the kind words from everyone. I'm keeping the Faith and eating chocolate! :)
Chocolate is good. Its the next day and all the stores are closed except an Indian owned one that stays open ALL the time no matter what. My son and i just got back from there with a load full of candy, ice cream and hot steamed peanuts. lol
Again, my thoughts and positive energies are in your court Thriftymaid sweetie. ;))
I've been in Orlando but I'm going to drive home tomorrow. Reports are my house looks OK. Shocked and thankful!! I hope you and the others are all OK. I'm not using the computer very much while staying with friends. Take care.
Hi Thriftymaid. Its Tuesday and its over. Im glad your house looks ok and all is well. Our lights just came back on and all is well here too. No damage, no nothing. We are grateful. It was quite scary. Glad your ok. lov carbonproduct ;)
I could not even get near the interstate so I just got out my atlas and found roads going south and west...when I hit a problem I found another road. It's shocking that people don't carry an atlas in their cars. I had a great tour of central Florida and met quite a few interesting characters along the way.

Irma. We have mandatory evacuation for Saturday. My son bought enough water to supply the entire block for a month. We even have dried food that will last for 25 years that he bought just in case of a nuclear war. He is a bit of an alarmist but i love him anyway. ;)

Dont worry, Hurricanes almost always bounce off us because we are located in a cove or Savannah. Thats why we have so many pretty trees that are old and still standing.
My brother too owns a house in Florida, Orlando to be precise, he is however staying with his family with my mother in India. Poor thing he must be worried, Jane! I hope for the best for your brother too, Jane!
Thank you. He's fine. He evacuated from Clearwater to stay with friends in Georgia. He is still there and the power has been out for a couple of days. He doesn't know how his house fared, but has had encouraging reports from the area.
I drove to Orlando and stayed with friends. I drove back home to SW Florida last night. Everything is OK and power is already back on. Within a few miles of me in any direction there is big damage and flooding. I am so thankful and at the same time very saddened at what some are going through. We are really shocked at our outcomes, especially living so close to the harbor.
