Hurricanes Jose and Katia have developed in the Atlantic but won't be as strong as Irma. Will YOU be a hurricane this year?

Native Americans called them "Hurakons" after "a great spirit who commanded the east wind".  Especially destructive hurricane names are retired.Following are the 2017 names for hurricanes.

Atlantic Tropical/Subtropical

Arlene, Bret, Cindy, DON, Emily, Franklin, Gert, Harvey, Irma, Jose, Katia, Lee, Maria, Nate, Ophelia, Philippe, Rina, Sean, Tammy, Vince, Whitney

Eastern North-Pacific Tropical/Subtropical

Adrian, Beatrice, Calvin, Dora, Eugune (that's how it is spelled) Fernando, Greg, HILARY, Irwin, Java, Kenneth, Lidia, Max, Norm, Otis, Pilar, Ramon, Selma, Todd, Veronica, Wiley, Xena, York, Zelda.

As you can see this year we get real lucky. Both a DON and a HILARY.

I'm off this year but I'll be on duty again next year in the Eastern North Pacific.

I've been a cyclone once, a tropical storm three times and a hurricane six times.

I knew you were a very strong gal Liv but I did not realize how strong! We're okay aren't we? You're not mad at me for any reason, right? Just wanna make sure since I'm pretty sure one good strong blow of wind from you and I'd be a gonner. Kinda joking. I suppose that is in very bad taste considering all that is going on in the real world in real time. Thank you for your reply Livvie and Happy Saturday. Irma is supposed to hit Florida sometime on Sunday. Fingers crossed.

    Cyclone Pearl

You retired after being a cyclone in Australia in 1994.  Sit back and relax!
