Discussion»Questions»Weather» Hurricane Jose right behind Irma has just upgraded to a CAT 4. Behind that is Katia and behind that? Are we there yet? At the edge of what?
I just watched the news and it appears that Hurricane Jose is about to hit Barbuda AGAIN! There is not one building that is salvageable or safe to hide in. The president or governor is trying to arrange for everyone to be evacuated from the island by any means available - sea, air, land. The really sad part is that the island will have to be completely rebuilt and they don't have enough money to do that.
I saw "BEFORE" and "AFTER" photos of both St. Martin and Barbuda yesterday Spunky. It was unbelievable. It looked more like one of those disaster movies we've seen countless times. But this so real it is surreal. More to come and I don't see how it can all be rebuilt. I read that FEMA is almost out of funds already and Irma hasn't even hit Florida yet! Talk about a budget crunch and running out of money before the next payday while bill collectors are pounding on the door! Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)
It is terrible. Not only hasn't Irma hit Florida yet, Jose, another Category 4, is waiting in the wings! The devastation will be horrific. Perhaps this is the straw that will cause Congress to think about it's spending habits and stop frittering away more than it takes in.
If there are enough of these disasters hitting us back-to-back wonder what Trump will do? He isn't in the news. He isn't in the spotlight. No one cares about him or thinks about him at all because everyone is focused on the tragedies that have happened and are in the processing of happening. How long will he be able to stand it before he creates a crisis of such magnitude that we HAVE to pay attention to him? Think he will ask Congress to declare war on North Korea? I'm not joking Spunky. He is always desperate for attention. The last few days no one cares about what he has to say. That must be killing him! Thank you for your reply! :)
I would not like to be one of his inner circle members at this point. I'm sure he'll find away to get back on the front page. Let's just hope it isn't something disastrous.
I think it will have to be disastrous Spunky. I mean Hurricane Jose is right behind Irma. And Katia is right after that! A nuclear war would get attention. Who better than North Korea to attack? The Donald John just bragged about the beautiful military equipment he has at his disposal and hoped he would not have to use it . We know he is a showoff. Sadly. Thank you for your reply! :)
Me too Spunky. I guess we will find out soon enough what tricks he has up his sleeve. He lost a few days face time in front of cameras so he has a lot to make up for and he may well have a smorgasbord of ways to get all that attention he had to do without when IRMA knocked him off the stage. Thank you for your reply! :)
I don't recall hearing whether Mar-A-Lago was seriously damaged, but I'm sure we will know soon enough. Then he can complain about the devastation to his property. Maybe that will be enough and he won't have to start another war.
You can bet Trump will first in line for handouts to repair his properties. Probably lie about the scope of the damage so he also make "improvements" having nothing to do with hurricane damage. He knows how to game the system. He will be first in line knocking at FEMA's door. He has multiple properties you know including a $28 million estate on one of the islands. Don't know if it was damaged BUT it will matter not. He will make stuff up and will end up MAKING money on the deal. SIGH. That's what comes of electing a Fox to guard the hen house. :( Thank you for your reply. Actually attacking the US during Irma would have been a smart move for North Korea. The fact that they didn't must mean they don't really want a war. I mean imagine who would survive a thermonuclear ICBM? Being in California we are very reachable. I think I read that North Korea has the capability of reaching the middle of our country..maybe Chicago? I hope we don't find out! :)
I'm sure he will be at the head of the line. I believe his property in St. Marten was demolished. He had it up for sale but hasn't been able to get rid of it. Mother Nature has done that for him, but I'm betting he has insurance which will pay for the loss.
It's been awhile since I read anything about it. Who is gonna buy it now? Why do keep rebuilding in the same places they get wiped out? I don't get it. Thank you for your reply Spunky! :)
I don't understand rebuilding in the same place either, but I guess the same could be said for Californians who rebuild in wildfire areas, or where earthquakes and mudslides occur.
