Which Answermug members are directly affected by hurricane Irma right now?

Is that why it's been a little quiet on Answermug the last few days?
Do you know of any Answermuggers living in the direct path of hurricane Irma?

We are in Savannah. We are already getting a lot of wind and Irma isnt suppose to get here until tomorrow at around 1:00 pm. in the form of a strong tropical storm. (possible 35-60 miles an hour winds) We live 9 miles from the ocean so the tide surge is a concern for flooding. We are expecting to lose power.

Thanks SpunkySenior. Apparently its not as dangerous to us as it was predicted to be yesterday. We are keeping our fingers crossed. ;)

I was very happy to see that it was reduced to a Cat 2 last night and to a tropical storm this morning.  Hoping that the flooding recedes quickly and life gets back on track soon.  Be safe.

Thanks Truthseeker. We have plenty of water, no flood insurance though, (it was too late this year to get it) and a generator that we cant use because it could be a fire hazard. ;O

  • Oh no!
Well I really hope you don't get that flood, that really ruins your basement.
Do you have a sump pump down there?

Unfortunately , we dont have a basement. I wish we did. We are expecting tornado activity to increase 8 fold during this strong tropical storm starting 1:00pm tomorrow. (35-60mph) winds are possible and the title surge is a concern. We live close to the ocean.

I live in northeast Florida, it's not supposed to be here until tomorrow but we're still getting crazy wind and it's already flooding. I'm surprised we still have power, I saw the power pole in front of my house shooting sparks when a big gust came through. Irma's also spitting out tornadoes everywhere.
