If you could foresee a certain calamity affecting your health years hence would you take your own life enough in advance to avoid it?

What would taking your life do to your loved ones? Would it be easier on them than watching your decline from something like Alzheimer's? I think that is a very hard question to answer. Just as asking if you could pull the plug on a loved one whose quality of life was non-existent. What would you do? What would YOU prefer to do if it were you?

We are getting pretty decent average kind of weather here for this time of year,  sunny hot during the day and mildly cold night times.
Lung cancer may not always be painful;  my grandfather showed no symptoms till two weeks before he died. Grandmother said he began 'acting funny'  so she took him to the doctor .
I think death should be accompanied by some pain otherwise it wouldn't seem right.  If I feel no pain in my last days maybe i'll set myself on fire just to feel better about it. The medical science people may not be willing to accept a crispy critter though.

Surely you jest. I don't think pain would make death more meaningful. It would just make your passing infinitely more horrible. Would you really want your loved ones to see you in agony from pain as their last memory of you? I don't think so. I hope not. Maybe you should rethink that. My dad took a nap and never woke up. He had a smile on his face. A blessed way to go I think, don't you? We are getting a real break in the weather for a few days...70's and 80's if you can believe that! We'll take it. Won't have to use the air conditioner so maybe we can save a couple of bucks on the electric bill! Thank you for your reply Kg and Happy Friday to thee! :)
