Acting Homeland Security Secretary Elaine Duke gives a very upbeat assessment of Puerto Rico. The San Juan Mayor disagrees. Why?

The Mayor of San Juan says it's "not a very good news story". They lack power, food, water, fuel. Also people are running out of meds. Hospitals are not doing at all well.  The situation is dire and getting direr. Why is it that the folks who haven't been there think everything is going so well and those who are actually living there give an entirely different  picture? Anyone have a clue? The usual?

    I thought it highly insensitive of this woman who seems clueless as to what human suffering is about, to give such a heartless comment. She should be severely reprimanded, even fired. Someone in her position needs to be a compassionate and empathetic individual. She should be out there helping, instead of just running her mouth.

    ((hugs)) I totally agree with thee my friend. I couldn't have put it better. The people who aren't there are telling us a vastly difference story than the folks experiencing it. I mean c'mon! How dumb do these folks think we are? We can SEE the devastation. We can HEAR the San Juan, Puerto  Rico Mayor BEGGING for attention and help and supplies so her people won't die. Why should we believe these pols who lie all the time about everything? I wonder if she will issue an apology and her regrets for being so dumb-headed and for lying through her teeth? She said it is "a good news story". Mayor Cruz said it is NOT a good news story. Whom do they expect us to believe? AARRGGHH! Thank you for your reply Autumn and Happy Saturday. How many days has it been since Puerto  Rico was hit? And we KNEW IN ADVANCE that Puerto Rico would be the target. The  Donald John didn't even know that Puerto Ricans are Americans. When the  Governor of Puerto Rico first sent word to Donald John about getting help Doofus Don told the governor to contact the head of his own  country for help. I am not joking.
