Yes, the political-correctness, hatred, offensive behavior, and bigotry associated with them compares with and exceeds those topics. If people would work to eliminate these aspects of religion and politics, it would go a long way in helping to enter a civil discussion. Unfortunately I don't see that happening anytime soon.
