Most women aren't. It's a pretense to make men feel more macho.

But I hate killing them...except that one that is biting or stinging me.

My better half is arachnophobic - but there's one type of spider she likes to look at if she doesn't have to get too close, it's pretty:

I saw some of the movie...incredibly stupid. Chitin is not strong enough to support that size of any exo-skeletal critter.

It is a story that they tell themselves.

Yes, someone could have been bitten once or twice.  But that is not usually the fear.  The fear is for attention.

I see it all the time.  Like we are bringing up some ridiculous bonding subject.

Like I like Tomatoes.  OH. ME TOO.

I am afraid of spiders.  OH ME TOO!  Ewwww.

So FREAKING stupid.  I never believe a word anyone says when they start with the phobia nonsense.

Why?  Phobias are REAL . Because?  We MAKE them real.  Once you are aware, you can do the work to get your power back and restore your sanity about something you have almost total control over.

My mother was afraid of swimming all her life.  She never tried to overcome it.  It was this lazy absorbtion, soaking in everything her fear was telling her was real.  She figured she was too afraid to concentrate and learn because she was going to drown.  That was the story she stuck with her entire life.  Never went swimming.

    How sad.

Not because she missed the water, but because she missed the greatest gift of all.  Our POWER to control all our desires and fears.   Right at our fingertips if we but at least try and overcome the obstacle.

Read books, go to counseling, but DO NOT let your silly brain control what you think.  Make a new movie.  It is all there is to it. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at October 10, 2017 4:07 AM MDT

    You've never experienced a phobia, that's why. I have one - I'm eremophobic.

So, the other day I asked my wife if she had seen the newspaper. She said "here, just use my iPad". What a great suggestion! That spider never knew what hit it.
