Do you get offended when you are being very serious and someone goes out of his/her way to be a smarta**? Why?

Never. I find it humorous . Life is too short to get offended about anything. It just gives you hemorrhoids.

So you accept smarta** folks as part of the territory? I think it is disrespectful, rude, impolite and shows the contempt they have for you. Just my take on it. Thank you for your reply officegirl and Happy Sunday! :)

Yet when YOU'RE disrespectful, rude, impolite and show contempt for others or for their opinions (and don't try to lie by saying that you never do), that's fine.  Your myopic hypocrisy doesn't allow for fair play across the board, does it?  Oops, that was redundant of me.

I re-read your question and discovered it is indeed in need of a question mark. Why did you say it was rhetorical?

They do that because they think you're a punk. So that's when you've got to show them you're not.

I know it is an impolite and disrespectful thing to do. They think I am a  "punk"?. I'm gonna look that up righty. Be right back. "Something or someone worthless and unimportant". Wow. That's what rude insulting impolite people think of me? Then why do they waste time on me? Why not just avoid me completely? Are they nutjobs?  Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! :)

Avoiding argument is too easy for them, and they feel they are smart enough to get the better of you, and then get a good kick out of it as well. People enjoy being cruel and mean.

    *EDIT*

And that's why it's important to not let that happen to you, to stand up for yourself, and to show them they're wrong.  This post was edited by righty1 at October 15, 2017 10:15 AM MDT

    Yes,  of course.

I am never trying to offend you.   Please do not think that.  I do get offensive with everyone when they ask something I think needs that kind of reaction.  But never do I want to make the asker feel like I am trying to make them feel badly.

I know I can be like that.  I always apologize.  It is not my intention.  I am just a fierce, passionate thing sometimes.

I hope you never quit this site ever.

Thank you for your reply Shar. That is a very kind thing to say.  I guarantee you that no one will ever drive me away. I have contempt/disdain for those wimpy folks who leave internet social sites because they don't like some of the folks there. All they have to do is IGNORE them.  But no. They prefer to whine and kvetch and say woe is me and then leave. I say good riddance! Bah humbug! Happy Sunday. This post was edited by RosieG at October 15, 2017 2:57 AM MDT
